The January statistics from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver will be out soon and you can expect to hear that Buyers and Sellers were quite active in the month of January.
Its a good time for Buyers to be looking. Interest rates remain low and there is an increase of inventory. But as I've said before the Buyers are out earlier than the usual build up in spring. Visits to 604NewHome.com were up over 1,000 visits compared to the peak buying time last year!
While some Buyers may complain of high prices, they still buy. And when they sell, they no longer seem to have a problem with it! In fact, you could probably list at half the market price (which would attract multiple offers) and likely end up with a final sale price more than double.
Are you considering buying or selling this spring? For example, currently (as of Feb. 1st) there are 76 detached homes for sale in Port Moody, 52 townhomes and 152 condos. Coquitlam has 289 houses, 91 townhomes and 258 condos listed for sale. While Burnaby North or North Burnaby, has 101 houses, 69 townhomes and 256 condos on the MLS.
If you are ready, let me help you get into your next home. It might already be on the market.
