Pricing Value

A couple of interesting news notes to share from this past week.

The BC government's carbon tax kicked in and people complained about the 2.5 cent additional cost for a litre of fuel as of July 1st.  What about the 6 cent per litre rise at the pumps the week before?

Alberta is imposing minimum drink prices starting next month to help reduce drunken rowdiness. The price? $2.75
wow. That will stop them.
Still cheaper than the $4 hotdog being sold by the guy with the cart outside the front door of the bar.

And then there is the NHL.
Mats Sundin has to think about $20-million dollars over 2 year TO PLAY HOCKEY! I'd pay big money just to take a shift in an exhibition game!  Marian Hossa turns down $80 million over 8 years to play with the Oilers (must have caught wind of the Alberta minimum drink prices) while Evgeni Malkin will remain in Pittsburgh after signing a deal on par with Sidney Crosby.

I guess what I'm getting at is - everything has its price.  What works for some, doesn't work for others. The people involved in the transactions above have put a value on their product and deals are being made.

Will I pay $1.53 for a litre of gas? Guess I'll have to. My strata doesn't allow horses.
Would I pay $2.75 for a drink in Alberta? Sign me up!  But the cab ride home to the lower mainland would be a little expensive.
Would I pay $20 million for Mats Sundin? No, I'd rather spend it on the rights to "Hockey night in Canada".

Everyone has their price.  That price is somewhere between the maximum the buyer is willing to pay and the minimum the seller is willing to accept.

Same thing when it comes to real estate. Right now is a great time for buyers as sellers are pricing homes sharper, there is a lot of product on the market and mortgage rates are still relatively low.

My job is to consult you throughout the home buying/selling process and determine the value of the home on the market. Then, through negotiations, I will make or save you as much money as possible with a final offer that works for everyone.

Win-Win.
Like the summary of the Roughriders first two games of the season. (Fingers crossed!)

If you would like to discuss real estate, the Riders or whatever else is on your mind, please give me a call at 604-New-Home and let's talk!
